ReTurn to You with Danielle Sadhana

Ten weeks.
Ten places
in the body.

A one-to-one somatic journey, online. We move, draw, write and listen, one part of the body at a time.

  • One to one, just the two of us
  • Online, once a week
  • Four new people each month

You can understand exactly why you do something, and still do it.

You may already have words for a lot of it. You've read. Reflected. Maybe you've been doing inner work for years.

And sometimes there is still a distance between what you understand and what you can actually feel. I don't think that means the insight failed. The body asks for a different kind of attention.

We move. We draw. We write.
And we listen.

A movement can become an image. A drawing can bring a few words. Words lead us back into the body. Each form informs the next.

Move

Not exercise. Small, honest movement, to feel what is already here before we ask the body to go anywhere else.

Draw

No skill needed. Colour and line can say what words can't reach yet. This is one of my own self-portraits.

Write & listen

A few lines at the end, to keep what the body said. Sometimes a word arrives before the sentence does.

Ten weeks, one place in the body at a time.

We don't try to work with everything at once. We meet online once a week, and each week gives us one place to begin. The map is your own body.

  1. Self-portraitWhere you are now, seen without needing to improve it first.
  2. Feet and legsGround, direction, choice, balance.
  3. SpineHow you hold yourself, and what supports you.
  4. Arms and handsReaching, holding, giving, receiving, letting go.
  5. Chest and heartTenderness. What you make room for, and what you guard.
  6. PelvisVitality, pleasure, power, met in your own way.
  7. BellyWhat you take in, what you keep, what you let go.
  8. Neck, throat and jawVoice, need, truth. What gets said, and what gets held.
  9. Self-portrait & ritualWe return to the first portrait, to notice what you see now.
  10. CelebrationWe honour what was here, and name what you want to carry with you.

The ten weeks move through four phases.

ConnectearthWe arrive, and notice what already feels steady.
ExpresswaterWe make room, and follow what wants to be expressed.
EmbodyfireWe try, slowly, what wants to be lived and not only understood.
CelebrateairWe look back at what has shifted, and what still feels alive.

The days between sessions are part of the work, too.

You leave each session with something small to carry into your days: a practice recorded for you, a writing prompt, sometimes a movement that takes four minutes. Not homework. Closer to a place to come back to. And if something opens up mid-week, you can write to me.

This may be for you if…

  • You've been doing inner work, and you're curious about meeting some of it through the body.
  • You're moving through a transition and want to include more than your mind in how you meet it.
  • You want more room for creativity, expression, pleasure and aliveness, not only ways to manage stress.

Probably not, if…

  • You're looking for a quick answer, or a workout.
  • You need clinical mental health care as your main support. This work doesn't replace it.
  • You don't have room for a weekly session for ten weeks right now.

Hi, I'm Danielle.

For more than twelve years I've worked with people through movement, art and presence, across the United States, Europe, Brazil, India and Thailand.

I came to this work personally before I ever guided anyone through it. I know something about feeling disconnected, and about carrying things without words.

Where my work comes from
  • Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Somatic Experiencing International
  • Tamalpa Life/Art Process Practitioner, Tamalpa Institute
  • Registered Somatic Movement Educator, ISMETA
  • Graduate certificate in Movement Therapy, Angel Vianna College
  • Certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy, The Embody Lab
  • Certificate in Parts Therapy, Integrative Psychology Institute

“I know dozens of therapists and coaches from different areas and I assure you that Danielle is undoubtedly among the few people that I strongly recommend… She combines a rare sensitivity, with deep theoretical knowledge and a lot of practical experience.”

Maria G. P.

“She is a beautiful being who is wise beyond her years, deeply compassionate, an embodied listener… Her empathy and grounded presence make her ideally suited to speak to your individual path.”

A few things you may want to know

Is this therapy?

No. This is somatic education and coaching. We may work with emotion, sensation, movement and creative expression, but this isn't clinical treatment and it doesn't replace mental health care. If you're already in therapy, the two can complement each other.

What if something big comes up and I'm left holding it on my own?

We don't open everything just because it's there. We work at a pace your system can stay with, and part of how I work is knowing when to slow down and how to bring a session to a place where you can return to your day feeling grounded enough to continue.

I've never done somatic work. Is that a problem?

Not at all. You don't need to know the language or arrive knowing what to notice. We start where you are. That's enough.

What if my body has limitations?

There's nothing to perform here. Movement isn't about range or doing something correctly. If your body is in pain, tired, pregnant or simply moves differently, tell me and we'll find a way of working that makes sense for you.

Does this work online?

Yes. Most of my one-to-one work is online. I also like that you're already in the room you return to when the session ends. We finish, you take a moment, and you're already in your own space.

Is this going to get spiritual?

Only as far as you want it to. There's no doctrine here and nothing you need to believe. We work with movement, art and attention.
